I'm not sure myself, I can see what the Speaker is saying but I'd hate to see them all looking like a sack of, tied up in the middle.

Mamyalynne, yes, there are cheaper homes. That is not the average price.
It's like judging my area on the expensive houses down the road when in reality most of them are 3 bed terraces.

I think ties are becoming obsolete in the workplace, and it's just a reflection of that.
Because MPs represent the Electorate as a whole, how many of us common people wear a Peckham in daily business ? I would suggest that the boys from Eton should move into the 21st century & wear appropriate daily attire.

It depends which business you're in. My husband is in the City (London before anyone questions that) where ties are expected to be worn - and it doesn't apply only to boys from Eton.
