Great choice or 'political correctness gone mad'

Personally I wanted Tilda Swindon, but that was unlikely to ever happen.

Dammit I thought I was posting in this thread but it was the other one. Doh. A few years ago I’d have thought it was a daft idea but the plotlines have allowed for it, so as long as there’s some “internal” logic for it I’m not bothered. Plus I’ve been feeling for a while that it’s grown stale and complacent, and is in need of a firm kick up the rear end....

Don't let it go to your head, you will be demanding a female James Bond next.

"My name is Bond, Janet Bond"

Doesn't quite run off the tongue smoothly somehow.
Darts is a sport in which women should be the equal of men though, Albs.
Has there ever been a study on why women are crap at darts?
Talby, probably cos they're thinking about what to cook for dinner that night :-D
Before anyone gives me pelters, I ended up with more trophies than Mr Alba.

AOG, a female Bond who sleeps with men outside of wedlock will be called various names, yet a Mr Bond is a stud apparently.
Jamie Bond.

I am a Dr Who fan and I am disappointed the new Dr is a woman. Not only am I old enough to not like change I actually think things shouldn't be changed just ... because.

You only ha be to read the sheet from people saying carp along the lines of 'women are exhale' and ' remain role models'.

They have changed the gender to tick a biversity box that as far as I am concerned should even be on the page. NOTHING, as far as I am concerned should be done to tick a box.

Well I'm glad you said that ... although hang on ... how come the best chefs are ... :0)

I'm off out before the .... hits the fan.
As the DoctorDonna would say in a different incarnation ... What a *** liberty!
AOG get used to it there may even be a black Dr!!!
Perhaps Riversong could reincarnate as Idris Elba ... ?
Ooooo that would be good Sunny
oooh, now that'd be nice SD

(think I'll have to go have a cold shower now)
I'm not sure why I suggested that - I really do like Alex Kingston ...

Get with the programme! River Song is dead and, anyway, gave up all her regenerations.
Never say Never, Ellipsis - time travel is a funny business :)
Ellipsis, you really should have added 'spoiler alert' :-D

(I'd forgotten she had died)

Still, I'm sure a part could be found for Idris
Good grief...thet don't let women become doctors, do they?
In a massive slight on womankind, Doctor Who's casting team wait until unlucky number 13 before casting a woman in the role ...
a serious question (as if!!) always thought Timelords were only allowed to regenerate 12 times?
Eh, that was fixed in the Christmas special when Matt Smith thought he was going to be the last Doctor (in character, I mean). The Time Lords broke through the time lock surrounding Gallifrey long enough to give him a fresh set of lives.

The Doctor wasn't supposed to be able to regenerate until Hartnell had to leave for whatever reason, so...

Also we already had one female Doctor in Joanna Lumley.

lol ... The script writers must think you lot are actually dafter than kids ... and I wouldn't argue with them.
