But according to the "World according to AB" we must either condemn all asian men/immigrants/muslims or be accused of being apologists or fence sitters or low lifes.
I'll join you on that fence, Mamy. Budge up.......

And any perpetrator of a crime SHOULD rightly be condemned, Talbot. What is wrong is to condemn on the basis of skin colour, religion etc.
Personally, I hope they catch this pair and I hope they throw the bloody book at them. (And the utter cow in me hopes that they become someone's ***** in prison.......)

The problem with me giving my opinion on London is that I have no first hand knowledge, I gain it from the News and what I read from Londoners on here - from what I see it is very busy, equally crowded with a veritable wealth of nationalities not all of whom get along.
As with other Cities and indeed Towns like my own, in certain areas when other cultures have begun to move in, those already there move out resulting in some areas becoming imbalanced as a whole.
Whist if their new neighbours are problematic I can understand them moving, I see such as only widening any divide we wish to close.
I certainly don't have magic solutions and make no excuses for criminal behaviour from anyone.
Sorry this took so long to type.

There are many totally different parts to London. I often spend time in the suburbs- there are streets and streets of lovely houses from maybe 1930s nd some more modern ones- interspersed with lots of parks and small woodlands. Richmond, Enfield, too many to mention. The centre of London is not a rat hole and the foreigners that 'infest ' it are Europeans, Americans , Aussies and Japanese/Cjhinese- but overall I was struck by how 'white' the city was- very few Muslim looking types. But then ge on the tube and the ethnic mix is clearly much more varied. Then go to some of the areas like Hackney, Brent Cross, Whitechapel etc and you see the majority of the population looks of non-white heritage and there signs of poverty mixed with flashy BMWs driven by 19 year olds. Even Kensington has multi million pound homes and Grenfell Tower.
Overall, London is no rat hole, but there are some parts I would not choose to live or even visit

You have a strange view of AB, it is generally the opposite to how you describe it.
But according to the "World according to AB's liberal thinking, fence sitters" one should never criticise any Asian men/immigrants/Muslims or one stands the chance of being accused a Racist, Islamophobic, bigot, neo-Nazis or knuckle-dragger etc, etc.

This is a distortion of the point being made by most of us, Barmaid. Nobody has ever said "all" anybody. In my case I was referring to the grooming gang phenomenon whose members were almost exclusively Muslim. (Other examples of mainly Muslim sex crimes are the mass molestation of women at public swimming baths in Sweden and Germany and the notorious Cologne New Year 2016 when Europe was introduced for the first time to the North African cultural pastime known as taharrush gamea). Is this a generalisation? Yes, but its based on hard fact.
If the pattern had been recognised early rather than denied the grooming gangs could have been prosecuted with the zeal Mamya (and the rest of us) think is appropriate in crimes of this sort. Instead it was allowed to go on for twenty years for reasons I understand but disapprove of! And I think this is a disgrace. You do, too, don't you?
Instead the people who were pointing it out were victimised as Islamophobes and all the rest. Remember Anne Cryer and the way she was treated? Did you see the recently dramatised series on the Rochdale groomings? And its follow-up documentary called "The Betrayed Girls" and see how the (apparently) very few people who were honest about the facts were treated? Both the police woman and the social worker featured in that program have "resigned" from their respective posts.

the problem as i see it, some ethnics carry on their culture of disregard to their host country, and are enabled to carry on their culture of origin, but i hear but some where born here, that means nothing to them, their culture takes precedence as they see it as superior whether its religious or otherwise, all in the name of diversity. all i see is division and silent anger from the indigenous population, taking the proverbial p?@s on us, political correctness is now a sword to swipe at anyone who does not tow the line.
