ZM is deliberately mis understanding, there are no heteros only bars because of the furore that would occur if anyone tried to create one. YMB is merely pointing out the obvious that ZM and his ilk refuse to see. Namely that it is perfectly acceptable to have a "Gay" bar but not a "straight" one, not to difficult to comprehend is it?

It's a bar which will be a safe space for gay people (all bars should be safe spaces for *all* people but that isn't usually true) and I'm sure that you would be welcomed there, too.
It doesn't mean that it has to be exclusively gay but it *does* mean that the straight patrons will be expected to behave with tolerance towards the gay patrons. This does *not* happen in predominently straight bars/clubs.

Gay friendly establishments have a reason to exist, because gay people can go there, chat someone of the same sex up knowing that in all probability that they will be gay. Therefore, there's no danger of wasting time.
That's not true in general bars.
However, time has moved on and with the popularity of apps such as Grindr, one of the roles that gay bars had has diminished a little, but there will always be a market for good gay bars, as Soho attests.

The reason is down to the fact that homosexual acts were decriminalised 50 years ago, so right now, there will be many programmes reflecting on this.
Don't worry though - it'll only last a month or so.
I feel the same about the World Cup, but I acknowledge the fact that even though programmes I may want to watch may be postponed, or disrupted there are others who are footie fans for whom games are important.
I normally just ignore World Cup games and watch something else.
Like you, I have dozens upon dozens of channels to choose from, so it's no big deal.
