No I don't think they should be jailed but surely they must have wondered what was going on when the police made visits to their home .

Given their ages, I suspect that they did not even suspect anything and probably assumed that he was listening to the equivalent of Radio Luxemburg.

They might have been very good at fostering years ago but at 71 and 88 years old I think they should give it up .

I thought the visits were because the 18 year old was being agrressive/shouting/causing a disturbance at the home. I'm not aware that the police had been questioning them previously because of earlier finds of guns, bomb making equipment or jihadist threats etc, but maybe things have moved on and some have more up to date info

The question is not as daft as some would like to make out, indeed we see the usual 'ban the question' rather than debate it, athough I do think it could be worded better.

Should they be jailed Well yes if found guilty of aiding and abetting.

Should they be investigated by the police? Again yes, if only to stop false accusations if they are innocent.

Should they be investigated by SS? Certainly should, given what has been going on (and not just the bombing aspect) it rather looks like they are a little too old if nothing else.

The question is daft but if it prompts some new ideas rather than rehashing the same old same old then it's not a bad thing. But which bits are sensible out of :

1) Should the foster parents of the Tube bomber be jailed as an example to others who assist terrorists? Answer - no unless there is reason to charge them and they are found guilty of something. But we are nowhere near that stage and there is no reason to think we will ever be anywhere near that stage.

2) Why haven't they been stripped of their MBEs?
