Say what you like about Boris, and I have said it all over the years, but who else would give an interview. in a hotel lobby, all sweaty after coming back from a run ?

Boris's sole reason for existence is to grab the Tory leadership, it is behind every move he makes. Remember he phoned Cameron just 8 hours before the official referendum campaine was due to start and said he would change sides and support Remain as long as he was guaranteed the Tory leadership as a reward. Cameron refused and the rest is history.

Its obvious what Boris is doing here.......He is effectively saying " I'm still here ! "

He wants May's job, and he knows that he s one of the favourites. But as Foreign Secretary, he isn't in the news, or in the country every day, so he is just grandstanding.

He also knows that May will not dare sack him. She has shown herself to be a very poor judge of character in the past.....bringing Spotty Gove back into the Cabinet was one such example. She is weak, something that will be her undoing at some point in the future.

The last thing the Tory Party needs right now is a big scandal and a Leadership battle, and Boris knows that only too well.
There's bound to be a leadership battle and Boris will be in there.

With Labour still looking like a bunch of Poundshop Politicians, the Cons can afford just about anything they like.
hereIam, I wouldn't be at all surprised.

Zacs......you seem to forget how well Labour did, just a few weeks ago. I can't see that the Tories have excelled themselves in the intervening weeks, so there is still all to play for.
You just keep telling yourself that mikey.
Mikey, What did Labour do so well just a few weeks ago?
Not sure if you are serious zacs: I thought you were joking about not needing diplomats. We shouldn't confuse diplomacy with 'shilly shallying'
It may be that many diplomats do that, but that is not the same thing.

Its what I believe Zacs !

May is just a minibus crash away from losing power, and its all her fault.
Wheras Corbyn is a Leaky rowing boat away from winning it
The Tories are in a worse mess than labour at the moment. Of course labour has a reckoning coming I believe, but they are still basking in the afterglow of glorious defeat for now.
But at the moment labour is the party on the up and the tories are desperately trying to find a way to appeal to younger voters AND struggle with Brexit. They don't look up to either at the moment
Will someone please tell me what Labour did so well just a few weeks ago?

Actually, I don't think Mrs May is weak. She must be strong to withstand all the criticism her opponents are aiming at her.
They hoodwinked the largely politically naive young voters, who, I'm pretty sure had a fast introduction to 'Promise today / Impossible to deliver tomorrow' politics.

Labour gained 30 seats and the Tories lost 13, as well as their pre-Election working majority.
There was an election a few weeks ago? No one told me.
naomi, I can't find a reference to the phone call but here is Boris personally admitting he wrote a 2nd artical supporting 'Remain' while he was supposedly supporting 'Leave'
A two faced g** if ever there was one.

naomi and others , Take particular note of this quote in my above link
''Many observers noted how his pro-Brexit stance contrasted with his previous comments, including telling fellow Tories he was “no Outer”. They also noted that backing Leave would bode well for a future leadership bid.''
Think May will go into history soon as the leader of the Lost Majority Party, She is on borrowed time .
