/// Ah, yes......because that changed the meaning of my post entirely, didn't it? ///

Yes it did because we in this country can still say what we like in our own 'homes', but unfortunately not in our own 'country'.
Why not in this country, aog? They all look daft.
So you agree that these people, in their own homes, had a right to say they found what they were watching "amusing"?

Jolly good......
AOG if you turn your speakers on your last video has a commentary regarding the significance of Zulu Dance - though it is but a brief synopsis.

More detail can be found on the Internet both with and without pictures.
AOG - //Isn't that the showing of superiority over another race? I think that the word Racist is perfectly in order here. //

I think the phrase - Stop trying to pick a fight and go and do something useful is perfectly in order here.
...or have a boogie.

Yes but the difference being they were filmed sniggering at our traditional folk dances in their own homes, and transmitted by the BBC.

Now had the roles been reversed? well you know the answer.
You're looking more foolish with each post, AOG.
Ahhhh.......here we go.

Of wandering into the realms of "What ifs.....?" instead of dealing with what actually happened.
It's like the Twilight Zone at times here - the whiff of desperation is most off putting.
How could the roles be 'reversed'?

You can't civilise a primitive people and un-civilise a civilised one - but if you did, the result would be exactly the same.

If you want to be outraged, go right ahead, but there is no point imagining scenarios to get other people to agree with you, when clearly they don't.

Sniggering at the BBC??????

Off to the tower with them!!!
AOG - //Yes but the difference being they were filmed sniggering at our traditional folk dances in their own homes, and transmitted by the BBC. //

err, well, it's NOT MY traditional folk dance, and what on earth happened to the Great British sense of humour that we can't laugh at ourselves?
Dances such as the Haku are enjoyable to watch.

Morris dancing and Morris dancers look stupid and are amusing and cringeworthy to watch.

Yes I really should be taking lessons from someone like you, who is an expert at trying to get people to agree with you when clearly they don't.

But thanks I won't follow that flock or even try to join that flock, which you constantly try to do, with little success may I add.
Are you ok, aog? Xx
AOG - I am letting your offensive accusation that I am a racist slide this time, because, as this last post shows, you are simply determined to pick a fight, and I am not willing to facilitate your nonsense yet again.

Your post is going nowhere - at least have the dignity to stop looking for an argument and leave it there.

/// and what on earth happened to the Great British sense of humour that we can't laugh at ourselves? ///

Yes it would be a very sad world if we can't as you say "laugh at ourselves"

But that is not the point that I am making which is that they are laughing at our traditions, but it is frowned upon (or worse) to laugh at their traditions.

The unlevel playing field once again.
Gosh...I'm not primitive, and I still thought Morris dancing was pretty ridiculous when I first saw it. Thank goodness my English husband didn't think I was ridiculing his ancient culture.
Some of my opinions have changed over the years. I now love the look of the Beltane Morris dancers...dressed in black...black faces even ( OMG! ). Direct opposite of the silly all whites...;-))
