Wow, are they finally dragging themselves into the 21st century? Perhaps they'll stop stoning women for adultery when they've been raped. Or is that too much to hope for?

Thin end of the wedge.

Before you know it they'll be wanting to do so without a chaperone.
"Wow, are they finally dragging themselves into the 21st century? " - I'd say the 7th. In attitude even though they had no cars then.
"Perhaps they'll stop stoning women for adultery when they've been raped". What is the punishment for being raped these days?
They'll be promoting them to human beings next!
Their also allowed to enter sports stadiums now as well, jo.

Will they allow them to park too?

Haha, Talbot ;)
Earlier this month, a Saudi cleric was banned from preaching after saying that women should not be allowed to drive because their brains shrink to quarter the size of a man’s when they go shopping.

lol ... I was joking but I don't thing the cleric was.

Well, at least he was banned, Talbot. Someone must have some sense over there. At last.
I was living in Saudi Arabia when there was a fire in a girls school.
The religious police forced the girls back into the fire at gunpoint as they had run our without stopping to put their veils on . Several of them were burned to death as a result!
I do recall that incident Eddie, sub humans.
Such a nice freindly religion.

Just as well since we will all be living under it shortly thanks to Merkle, Bliar, May, Rudd & Co.
Saudi Arabia might be allowing it but now the ladies have just got to get it past their husbands, fathers, brothers, sons - not to mention other women who may not be quite as ... cough .... progressive ... as the law makers. Good luck with that girls!
"That don't impress me much."

Saudi Arabia has invested billions in the building of mosques and the funding of Islamic Studies department throughout Europe and the USA. (Remember Saudi's offer to build two hundred new mosques in Germany to ensure that Germany's new "citizens" felt at home?0

One such mosque funded by the house of Saud is the Didsbury mosque which nurtured the "refugee" responsible for the Ariana Grande atrocity. This mosque (and presumably many of its congregants) share all of these barbaric attitudes.

None of this a particular concern of May, Rudd or the boy Dimbleby when the issue of extremist literature was raised on QT.

I do know that the best and brightest won't get it, but here it is (spot the word Salafi):

http://www.mosquedirectory.co.uk/mosques/england/manchester/didsbury/west-didsbury/Didsbury-Mosque-and-Islamic-Centre-West-Didsbury-Manchester/298

There aren't that many Salafi/Wahaabi mosques, the majority (at least 50%) are Deobandi. That's the nasty (i.e. literal) version of Islam promoted in Pakistan and north-west India by Saudi money.

We're talking Tooting (I lived just round the corner in my early twenties with my first wife) and all major cities in the UK. The UK's largest Muslim population comes from NW India/Pakistan The imams are almost certainly illiterate in anything except Islamic bigotry.
A load of inexperienced drivers viewing the road through a gauze strip.
What could possibly go wrong?
VE,
// Abedi [the Manchester bomber] was also reported to the authorities after he confronted an imam who was delivering an anti-extremist sermon at Didsbury Mosque.

He claimed the leader was “talking ***” during the speech condemning Isis, the Manchester Evening News reported.

Akran Ramadan, who is part of the Libyan community in south Manchester, said he understood Abedi had been placed on a "watch list" after the mosque banned him and reported him to the authorities for his extremist views. //

Saudi Arabia is a deeply backward dictatorship, hiding behind a deeply backward religion. While this move is to be welcomed, there must be many other areas in which they need to be dragged into the 21st century.

Just on this issue, I understand that Saudi women will have to wait until June 2018 for this change to come about......why ?

Why not do it tomorrow ?
Of course. Can't have sexy Porsches driving the men to lose control and take them. Would be heartbreaking to have to stone a fine car.
They should think themselves lucky it doesn't take two years for society to be able to adjust to the change, with a request for another two year extension.
lol OG !
