Hardy a fan. She's pointing out the opposite. That those who don't want a wall ought not pay for it, and those that do should pay. More an anti-Trump fan.
I though Brexit was all about reclaiming our borders, shutting the door on immigrants and generally taking back control.
Now we have all the prominent Leavers clucking around saying there should be no border with the EU in Ireland.
TTT, not sure it is a good idea reminding us of Trump’s wall, which is not being paid for by Mexico, and after a year of Trumps POTUS, is not being built.
The UK Government position as usual is confused. They say we want to take back control of our own borders under brexit. And that control is we don’t want to have any control. Strange but true.
Easy peasy. Leave the border with NI and Eire as it is. Just control the ports and airports between NI and UK as we will do with Eire. The Irish are being encouraged to look for a problem by their EU paymasters. Never was a man more aptly named, Michel Bernard Barrier.
The south says they don't but their actions show otherwise. The EU and they are pushing for a hard Brexit, a consequential hard border due to EU demand, and so the EU and the south are those fighting to get a wall. So no, it's nothing like analogous with Mexico and the US. The total opposite as I pointed out.
Having control to decide on a soft border IS taking control. Being forced to have a hard border against our wishes is a sutuation where we won't have taken control. I don't understand the surprise at us wanting to exercise control once we have it.
Then why are they ensuring it happens ? Clearly they want a wall or they wouldn't be trying to force so called hard Brexit. The EU out of spite, the south out of preferring a wall to telling the EU where to go. As long as they can convince themselves it's not their fault, and can blame it on the innocent UK, who tried their best to kove talks on, they'll be content to let it happen and then complain.
Other than the general fact that both Trump and Hoey are ugly and full of ****, I don't see the connection.
The UK does not want a hard border, neither does the Republic of Ireland. No one wants a hard border, but the difference is that the Republic doesn't trust the UK that there won't be.
So Hoey is talking out of her huntswoman's hat.
