How silly. If she were to appeal she could well find her sentence increased to one of immediate custody.

ok so she goes to appeal, doesn't that mean that she could lose the appeal and go to jail..

Question Author
if she had severed an artery he could have bled to death..
Then she'd be done for manslaughter but that didn't happen so.....

I'm Glad hc pointed out that men also get away with It, as such
Question Author
i know they do get away with it, very disturbing.
Maybe the CPS should appeal her ridiculous 'punishment'.
If this woman has a legal right to an appeal, then she has a right to exercise it, so the answer is yes.

That's not to say that it may not be a good idea - but legal rights are there to be exercised if the convicted person wishes to do so.
Andy, before she can appeal she has to be granted that right, and as her sentence was so light, I doubt she will be given the right to appeal.
AOG, can you get more merciful than a suspended sentence?
I can't understand on what grounds she is basing her application for leave to appeal. Can anyone enlighten me?
Beats me Eddie. Appeals against sentence are usually made when the sentence is thought to be too harsh. If this is her reason then she is in cloud cuckoo land.

Eddie
does it not say in the link, i know that she wants to become a surgeon, and that she obviously had an issue with drink, and possibly drugs.
We've had threads on this case previously, this is just one.

I can't see a hope in Hell of her application being approved.
Some on here obviously do not understand that she has NOT actually appealed , she is just asking for permission to take her case to appeal.
She pleaded guilty so as I understand it she can only appeal the sentence not the fact that she was found guilty , as she admitted guilt.
Possibly New Judge will see this and give us his opinion.
But as she has already escaped custody I fail to see what possible positive outcome is possible.
if she's appealing against her suspended sentence, then I think she is delusional.
Does she hope for it to be expunged (or whatever it's called?)

Personally, I think the injured party should appeal her lenient sentence, it is allowed now I beleive?

alba
quite so..
and I can spell believe - honest !
I've got a feeling that the CPS are out of time to appeal now. She probably left it until the last day to submit her appeal, knowing that the CA cannot increase her sentence.
Barmaid, do you think that she will be granted permission to appeal as her sentence is so light?
Mmmm not sure I'd like someone as unstable as this operating on me or anyone I cared about !
