The main thing to get in a spat when it comes to passports is not their colour or size (though I must say I liked the old blue hardback versions). The size will not change because, quite understandably, most countries adhere to a standard size so that they can be read by machine. No, the main thing which I will celebrate is the disappearance of the words...

Until you leave it on a red counter, Khandro.
Yellow would be appropriate to reflect the way our politicians are dealing with Brexit.
n. :0) Few and far between though.
Unless we don't leave it will have to be changed anyway, the cost of the background ink will be the same were it red or blue. And people who never travel mikey don't really have the right to dismiss it as nonsense.
Just watch out for the longer waiting times/queues at passport control. Doesn't bother me as I rarely travel within the EU.
You queue now, it will make no difference.
"Just watch out for the longer waiting times/queues at passport control. Doesn't bother me as I rarely travel within the EU."

It doesn't bother me and I do travel within the EU quite a bit. I expect foreign nations to which I travel to take a bit of care over who they do and do not allow to enter their country. On entering Cuba, for example, those with foreign passports have to have their photograph taken on arrival, give details of the plans for their stay and have a return ticket. As well as this about 25% have their medical insurance certificates examined. Failure to produce one means you have to buy a policy to cover your stay before you are allowed to leave the airport.

What I'm really looking forward to is a return to a "UK Passport Holders Only" gate at UK airports. I'm somewhat tired of having to queue behind the world and her husband from all the other EU nations when I arrive at Gatwick. Almost every other country I have visited outside the EU has such an arrangement for its native passport holders whereas we are lumped in with all the waifs and strays from 27 other countries. Yet another pretentious attempt at nationhood from the EU.
Beige or camo for me.

Prudie...the fuss that people on here, and other places are making is nonsense.

The only difference between this blue passport and our present one will be a few words and the colour of the cover, and the colour is neither here nor there.
Haha, I could have predicted the responses from the usual!

I personally think it is symbolic of our release from the EUSSR. No it wont cost the tax payers a fortune, as pointed out they are continually tweaked and anyway how much can removing the words European Union from it cost.

What I am more concerned about though is the very real possibility this will be used by Remoaners (not remainers) to lull us into a false sense of security when Theresa the Appeaser capitulates and we end up worse off by belonging to the EU in all but name; but with no vote.

I still have my blue passport. It is nice but the size is not really practical, it simply does not fit in a pocket.
Mikey, Why is everything you disagree with nonsense. That is a very arrogant position to take.
How unimportant............................fancy getting upset about the colour of a piece of paper that allows you to travel.....lets hope they never change the colour of bus passes...uproar would ensue!
Mally, to quite a few people, it will be symbolic of leaving the EU.
Well I think it'll be quite nice.
it will be, though i don't travel now, so don't effectively need one, but you never know..
All of the gold embossing has rubbed off mine anyway, I just have a blank piece of card
the blue passport is not "British", it was required by the League of Nations. So Britain will now be once again to kowtowing to an international organisation, and not even a live one. Cute.

And did you know... the EU couldn't care less what colour the passport is. Croatia's had a blue one all along.

Danny....quite a few people have expressed similar thoughts on this issue as myself...Kromo used almost the same words.

Ummm, Islay, DTC, and Voltage have also said how unimportant this is, and yet, you only single me out for criticism....why ?
Recidivism?
