Yesterday was like a Whitehall farce. She seems to have no ability to hire and fire whatsoever. Just a day or so after lionising Toby Young, he has now resigned, in disgrace.
May should have thrown Greening out of Number Ten, bodily if necessary, instead of trying to reason with. In the end, of course La Greening was, in effect, sacked.
Bambi Hunt also seemed to have the better of May.
Just who is in charge these days ?

Emmie,
I am not anticipating a change of Government. The Cnservatives have another 4 years at least, Corbyn will be too old then.
But May cannot do the job. Problem is, her successor will have the same problems and from the current front runners, half the brains of May.
It does not bode well for the country.

Pathetic. She has no authority. Which is actually one big incentive for them not to get rid of her - zero authority from Downing St. means the ministers can effectively do as they please. If you assume that all politicians are always trying to maximise their own power and influence to the greatest extent possible, this situation is a win for everybody except May (and indeed the country).
May on her own terms is not as bad a PM as Cameron. But her government is the worst-managed one since at least the early 90s, if not earlier.

The Times, Telegraph, Guardian and Independent lead with the reshuffle, calling it a shambles.
Even the Daily Mail must think it was bad, their report on the reshuffle is buried way to the bottom of the page coming in at 17th story from the top.
