The point is - Fontana need not worry about preserving the white race. Previous examples (Aborigines and Native Americans) have done fine, despite their native territories being flooded with other cultures.

It's impossible to ring fence the world. Asia, the Far East and Africa have absorbed foreign cultural influences, and so has Europe.

Even leaving immigration aside, European culture has been consumed by America. The clothes we wear (The Gap, Levis, Nike), the films we watch, the food we eat (McDonalds, Burger King), the way we live - it's all in flux.

European culture is not set in stone. The fact is, in the past 50 years, big companies have become global and with that, there is a global workforce.

Every country will see the influence and confluence of outside forces.

This loathsome individual did not voice concerns about loss of cultural identity, he queried whether 'our ethnicity, our white race' is going to be wiped out.

I repeat my point - that assuming that a race you are born into by an accident of birth gives you the right to assume that it is superior, and that you should have a say in which (and clearly in his case it is none at all!) other races should be allowed to mix with it.

We do not control the future genetic mix of our races, and it is arrogant in the extreme to presume that the 'white race' is superior, and should be preserved by what amounts to selective breeding.

I wonder what his reaction would be if one of his children brought home a date from 'another race'?

I think we can take an educated guess!

Simple - we don't have Native American spokespersons fetching up on the media to suggest that the way for them to preserve their race and culture is for other races not to be welcome to mix with them, and place them in danger of being 'wiped out'.

Retaining an ethnic identity is one thing.

Doom-mongering about an ethnic identity being 'wiped out' is entirely another.

His inference is clear - he believes that mixing with other races will 'dilute' the 'white race' to a point where it no longer exists.

He may well be right, but to infer that he or anyone else is entitled to some sort of control over what is and always will be, simple evolution, makes him a racist.
