It's got at least another 10 years life left in it - I can't see how it will save me money to trade it in for a petrol or electric car. Nor will it save the enviroment - surely it is 'greener' to keep a car on the road than scrap it and replace it with a new one with all the pollution and energy waste that involves.
yes Hc in that case keep it till it dies but expect VED and city charges etc to start to get a lot more over the coming years
quoi: yes but running charges will escalate.
JTT: I think he means VED
Hoppy: well if new prices fall so do used prices and if diesels are less desirable then that to will depress prices.

JTT I used the phrase "tax hikes" - not referring to a particular avenue for that. It's a general term covering all manner of duty that the motorist is subjected to. Not sure why you are trying to score some sort of points over it. If I had used the Phrase "road tax" as quoi did then I could understand, indeed I actually did support you in your post, believing that you were in fact referring to quoi.
