These people have been found guilty of using the service whilst being in the receipt of dark skin.

Only kidding...I’m sure that the people who reported these black people would’ve done the same if they were white - but how many times has anyone reported a suspected burglary to the police and benefited from a helicopter being scrambled!

Awesome.

What’s the best way for black people to show they are not thieves whilst using Airbnb?

Jim nails it at 18:51. Speak to the Chinese, Arabs, Indians, Eskimos, and the Pacific Islanders before makin "sweeping" statements about white prejudice.
sp at 18:35, //they had the documentation proving that they have every right to be there. //

Okay, but I once had my passport, my driving licence, and the details of a villa I was renting together with the key to that villa stolen. Had the police apprehended the thieves entering that villa, should they have immediately taken their word for it that they were in legitimate possession of that documentation and that key? No. The police on this occasion were absolutely right to take the time and trouble to check it out – even if it did inconvenience the ‘victims’ for a massive 45 minutes.

How many black people use Airbnb? Hundreds? Thousands? Here we have one group who, because of the vigilance of a neighbour, encountered a problem - and your immediate question is “How Should Black People Use Airbnb?” See what you did there? One small group suddenly becomes all black people.

This obsession you have with seeking racism in everything is truly pathetic, sp. It really is.
Sqad - wearing dreadlocks is a religious symbol - Rastafarians are forbidden by the rules of their faith from combing or cutting their hair.

Do suggest that people should go against their religious requirements in order to present an 'acceptable' image to the wider world?
//wearing dreadlocks is a religious symbol //

And often not.

You're a white woman. Your view of racism is based on your limited experience.

You should listen and learn.

Incidentally - on AB we hear a constant stream of threads from white people telling everyone that racism doesn't exist.

You need to hear the other side of the story. You are the recipient of white privilege. There's nothing wrong with that - we should all celebrate out good fortune, but for you as a white woman to talk to me about racism - that's pathetic. I'm sure you'd agree if your thought about it.

You know very little.
So...these rappers that use the N word are most probably racist then?
Hmmmm
Would an helicopter have been scrambled were it not for the police knowing that the 'burgulars ' were black

I somehow doubt it

Errr...what?

Are you referring to the AirBnB guests?

I don’t get it.

Or are you talking about a group of people wholly unconnected to this story?

Like...if a group of Mormons were arrested in London, it would have something to do with Donny & Marie Osmond?
sp, These people were (wrongly) suspected of theft. Had they been white the neighbour would (hopefully) have reported their activity to the police. That is not about diversity, black, white, gay, straight, or wonky (Cor! I'll be in trouble for that one!) in whichever form wonky may take. It's about a report of a suspected crime which the police dealt with appropriately. Get a grip!
I am concerned by this because people who use pejorative terms for white people, also term to use pejorative terms for black people, Asians, and Jews.
Incidentally sp, you know nothing about me or my life .... so don't assume you do.

That is unfortunately very true.

Although, I'm failing to see a link.

I see the sea, I want a pee. :))
I watched an interview, can't remember his name but his brother is on TV, he's an accountant and drove a Mercedes, he got stopped 3 times within a couple of months for no reason. A black man driving a Mercedes...he must have stole it.
I reckon Constable Savage ordered the helicopter.

Walking on the cracks in the pavement is a terrible offence.

sp you are complaining about people being judged on their skin colour yet admit you judge people on how they're dressed. It may not be racism but it's pre judgement without proof which is just as bad.

You seem to have been 'on one' since you have 'taken a side' sp.

You'll drive yourself crazy eventually.
