Surely an accusation can only be determined to be spurious[i or [i]ludicrous] when an investigation has determined that it is?

I realise that it may be terribly inconvenient for these men to get to a point where they are just about to achieve their life's ambition only for women/a woman they have abused or mistreated to raise her 'empty and vindictive little head' and throw a spanner into the works.

The knee-jerk reaction disappointingly evident on this site at least is that there are always ulterior motives and that these women have either a) blown everything up out of all proportion or, b) have made it all up just to get revenge on the man.
