I'm fascinated by people who refuse to accept the word of professionals/practitioners about something, on the grounds that they "know...just know..." (with no evidence) the converse to be true.
As I said, the whys and the wherefores of the award are immaterial, the court believed her (and the evidence) enough to award her the money.
