if she goes, who would take her place at this late stage, and if the deal doesn't get through Parliament what happens next.

As pretty and amusing as it is, your allegory is incongruous, Karl. Most of the people who voted to leave the “bowls club” have no wish to retain any of its benefits or use any of its facilities. The reason the current mess has arisen is because our illustrious leaders who have been “negotiating” our departure have viewed the exercise as one of damage...

//When you have a side which contains a faction sowing dissent, of course the opposing side feels they need not be reasonable. //

What on earth do you mean by "sowing dissent"? How big proportionally do you think the, erm, "faction of dissenters" are among the 16 million? What do you think should be done about them?

//Which bit of my post at 08:58 is unclear?//

All of it to be honest. It reads as though you think 16 million people have been eagerly reinventing themselves as fifth columnists in the past two years. Which I'm sure isn't the case.
Naomi is simply and utterly wrong, and has been about this from Day One.

There's nothing I have done, or said, that has "thwarted" anything. I didn't vote for this mess; I didn't vote for the people who have tried, and failed, to implement it; and, it may surprise you to learn, nobody involved has any knowledge of, or interest in, anything I've said. It's frankly pathetic that you continue to blame everyone but the people who wanted this, and everyone but the people who offered you false promises.

Take responsibility for your own mess for a change, N.
Krom, //It reads as though you think 16 million people have been eagerly reinventing themselves as fifth columnists in the past two years.//

Read it again. You appear to be suffering from Jim Syndrome. He has a penchant for reading what isn't there.
Yes, Jim, we know. Your usual mantra. Not me Guv.

it just goes to show how divided our nation is right now.
what the remainers have been doing is being more vocal shall we say than the leavers.
One of these days, Naomi, you might learn to start playing the Ball rather than the Man. I live in hope.
It's not a mantra, it's a statement of fact. I've fought for what I think is best for my country, and that's nothing at all to apologise for.
Jim, I take responsibility for my posts. Try doing likewise.
"more vocal than the leavers..." -- haha. *As* vocal, certainly. But then, what did you expect? A divided nation, one side narrowly lost, and it was only that loss that seemed to wake people up to exactly what they were losing.

Jim, //I've fought for what I think is best for my country//

And in the previous breath, “There's nothing I have done, or said, that has "thwarted" anything.”

Hey ho.
In that case, I'm confused. If you agree that the 16 million Remainers aren't on the whole involved in this, it seems very odd to blame them.
Question Author
what exactly are we losing if we leave?
Krom, //I'm confused.//

You are indeed - conveniently so. My post was clear.
I don't need you or anyone else to tell me to take responsibility for my posts. I've done that often enough here. But you have another think coming if you seriously think that the only reason this has gone belly-up is because of Remainers scuppering things from within. Even in as much as that's true, it's only because all the top leavers ran a mile rather than take charge. Because they lied to you, and they knew that, and they have not yet had the guts to stand up and reveal that truth. And those who still haven't stopped lying are lucky enough to be only heckling from the sidelines, and will never have to take responsibility for their continued lies.
Jim , it would be far easier to get a Brexit deal through Parliament , than getting Naomi, Not to have the last word, just give up, it will be easier.
OK, you busted me, N. I posted arguments on Answerbank in the full and certain knowledge that it would destroy any hopes of Brexit being achieved...

That, and voting against Brexit in 2016, marks the extent of my efforts.
Jim, //But you have another think coming if you seriously think that the only reason this has gone belly-up is because of Remainers scuppering things from within. Even in as much as that's true...//

It's not true ... it is true .... and all within a few lines. Perhaps time to take a breath and think about that.
//My post was clear.//

Saying that doesn't make it true. But I can see you're not interested in discussing it further, so I'll respect your wishes.
Aww, N, never one for appreciating the subtlety of life, are we?

What I am saying is quite clear. You have a penchant for reading what isn't there :P
Krom, //all but a tiny tiny cross-section of them have done absolutely nothing since June 2016. //

///Except encourage it, defend it, and support it ....///

You are not one of that tiny cross-section you mention, but you have nevertheless encouraged it, defended it and supported it. What’s unclear?
