As far as I'm concerned vegans can follow their rubbish diet. However, that does not give them the right to interfere with us flexitarians which has recently been defined as eating normally. As for when some vegans start uttering tosh along the lines of "can't eat courgettes" because, of necessity, they have to be pollinated by bees - at this rate there won't be much left on the planet that they can eat.
