As with all 'matters of conscience'...... If you don't agree with it......don't do it. You don't agree with Abortion? Don't have one. You don't agree with 'gay marriage'? Don't get 'gay married'. Allow those who are making their own personal decisions the freedom to do so, and certainly don't try to restrict someone's rights based on the supposed utterings...

//One look would tell you they were sexual degenerates and/or too damn ugly to conceive.//

Spicerack that's a disgraceful thing to say, are you not better than that? Saying things like that completely destroys any argument you might be trying to put. Why not argue your point intelligently?
ummmm// Spicerack - I think you might misunderstand me. I'm pro choice and I'm Irish. //

Half of you are 'rejoicing', half of you aren't. I just pointed it out. Nothing whatsoever to misunderstand.

Didn't 'those people' fly in from around the world to taint the referendum. Then flew back out after the 'celebrations'?

OMG, the heavy mob are here. I'd better stifle my opinions and go.

For Funks Sake spicerack even if anyone is celebrating...they are celebrating the right to choose, not the right to kill an unborn baby.

Abortion is not an easy choice!!
I am with Canary
I always wonder why the same people who rejoice at abortion legislation are usually the same ones who are against the death penalty - I'm anti both BTW
Being a male I have no opinion of any importance. I believe it is entirely up to the women. I know that sounded odd, basically it has naff all to do with menfolk.
Ric.ror, in some circumstances an abortion is essential to save the woman's life. I wouldn't want to grow up knowing that my birth caused the death of my mother.
In other circumstances an abortion is essential for the woman's mental well being such as being a victim of incestuous rape where the baby could also have abnormalities.

In an ideal world all pregnancies would be the result of months of planning and anticipation between two loving and committed adults and all babies would be born healthy.
Sadly we don't live in Utopia
Again Ricror I don't think anyone is 'rejoicing' the demise of an unborn baby, they are celebrating the emancipation of a woman and her right to choose what happens to her body.
Personally abortion would never be the right decision for me as an individual, but I fully recognise that it is absolutely necessary for some and so I support the right to abortion for other women. x
Ireland’s abortion laws proved an effective death sentence for an Indian lady some while ago, for example.
THAT is why people use the term “celebrate” sometimes.
I was thinking about that case Ich. Very sad.
In some circumstances some people would probably not on here had abortion been the norm back in the day
Kval that is my reasoning too, whilst I wouldn’t I believe in the right of women to choose
And some people wouldn't have died in childbirth.
