// Are you saying that you think May will ignore any other points? //

I'm saying only that Theresa May's track record of "listening" is, so far, not exactly brilliant (understatement).

Also, I don't believe I've ever said I'm always right, because it's demonstrably false. I try my best, is all. It's not difficult to find examples where the EU gave ground in the negotiations. They have been obscured because the UK has given even more, but such cases still exist. The most notable example is that the "Backstop" solution the EU proposed was originally to extend to the entire of the UK, rather than merely Northern Ireland. Whether that marks progress is up to interpretation, but it still represents the EU ceding ground on one of its earlier points.

It's not a matter of me being always right and everyone else always wrong. It's just that on *this* case you might have to check more carefully.

//she's a worthless negotiator//

Can’t argue with that – although with the demand that one option be removed entirely from the table, Corbyn’s prowess at negotiating that is less than worthless. It’s non-existent.
I used to enjoy discussing things with you, ymb. We rarely agreed, but at least we tended to get along well and resolve things amicably. Has been a while since that's been true.
and yet there's a fair chance that he'll get it. We've seen how well May's done with her red lines.
As a staunch Labour supporter and a firm remained, I am disgusted with Corbyn's attitude. I believe he should have sat down with May. It is not costing him anything and for the sake of his personal feelings towards Brexit which should have been put aside, he should have helped instead of writing a stupid letter. His actions at this time will cost him the 2022 elections.
^^ for naomi, obvs
That could depend on what the rest of them say, jno. From what I've heard this morning, none appear to agree that he's right to demand its withdrawal.
The red lines are vital. Leave any out and it's the infamous "bad deal" that no-deal is better than.
It's Brexit jim, I for one will be glad when it is all done and we can move on one way or another.

Perhaps we should agree to disagree with each other on that particular topic.
Corbyn hasn't yet failed to draw an agreement with the EU, Theresa has. Therefor, her track record is worse that corbyns. She has failed more times than him to come to a deal.
Spath, hate to rain on your parade - but he cant strike a deal, much as he would like to think he has he does not have any pwer otehr than as a vote in teh house.

He has stated he would be much better over and over, so here is is chance to step up to the mantle. Problem is I suspect he knows full well the EU wont give him any deal either - They intend to punish the UK.

As has been said by one of his own MP’s no less:
He’s spoken to Hamas, Hezbollah, the Iranians and the IRA with no pre conditions but when it comes to addressing problems that affect the UK directly he chucks in a few riders.......

Speaks volumes about him.
I'm sure if the vote went the other way, he would step up to the mantle. However, the conservatives evidently are confident, so let em get on with it and do their job.. Oh wait, but they can't, cus they need to have a chat with Jeremy?

Worst case scenario, blame the past two years on the leader of the opposition, who as you've said, has no power other than as a vote in the house.
He’s probably too upset to do anything. That’s how Thornberry explained his inability to deal with the anti-Semitism in his party.
This is a Tory Problem , created by a Tory, David Bloody Cameron and then Handled by a very irresponsible Conservative Government led by another Tory ,Theresa Bloody May, who could not arrange a P up in a Brewery Tories out - for ever.
steg, //Then blame them that voted for the gov we have...//

///Had Corbyn been PM and responsible for negotiations, we would still have ended up with a deal that no one wants. He doesn't want 'No Deal'. Party politics isn't the issue here.///

But he wasn’t , so we won’t probably know.
It was the government that is/was responsible for the negotiations with the eu no one else
steg, //we won’t probably know. //

No, we won't - but since he won't even talk about 'No Deal' it's a fair guess that he'd have gone for a 'Deal'.
It still doesn’t matter a bit tho cause he isn’t in power, it’s ms May and her government, so he is not to blame
steg, I've already said that Mrs May is responsible for agreeing a deal that no one wants - she is - but that said if Corbyn's demand that 'No Deal' be removed as an option, he will be responsible for destroying the one hope left to Leavers.
Blame, if it is to be assigned, lies with all involved; both those in charge unable to find a solution, and those going out their way to be difficult and raise obstacles in order that there be no ideal solution.
