The judge said that the sentence was 'without limit of time', and I understand that the 27 years is a determined time, but it is not limited to that time, so in fact, he will probably never be released.

The judge according to EC law cant set a time for life sentences because of pre-determination
decision to release is set by the parole board and not him
( and not the Home secretary either ) and at the time of release

what was broadcast was 'remarks on sentencing' which are used as precedents, and quite honestly The Lord Advocate was long on opinion and short on law ....

Once again the ones in favour of torture are out in force.
'Imprison him for life.' 'let the other prisoners deal with him'etc.
There should be only one way to deal with evil,depraved monsters like this and that should be a lethal injection .A quick, humane end to such a being. He doesn't deserve to live.

No I don't. People that go to Switzerland seem to have peaceful endings. Animals go quite peacefully after being given an injection. Why keep someone locked up for ever in prison. ?
