She has had the conviction for murder quashed and is now back home.

Well as matters stand at present, Sally Challen did not resort to murder either.

Torn on this one. On the one hand I feel sorry that she had such a miserable married life but on the otherhand they were separated.He was free to have other women in his life. After suffering mental abuse for years you would have thought she would be glad to be free. To hit someone once with a hammer takes guts but to smash a person's head to pulp with 20 blows is cold blooded murder!

I would actually suggest the level of ferocity actually meant it wasn't premeditated and that she simply and uncontrollably lost the plot for a few moments.

Rockrose - your opinion back then was factually incorrect: Blackman was no longer a murderer. So to state those on this thread calling this person a murderer are wrong is hypocritical. Surely you can see that can't you?

You can't have it both ways even if you believe you can.

Thank you for your penultimate post, Barmaid. As you say 'I imagine the difference with this is that this was emotional abuse (this is the controlling and coercive behaviour). To what extent, remains to be seen.'

I shall be looking out for the outcome of her next trial.
