/// He's living in a Fawlty-style dream world where everyone's always been white and spoken his language, except for a few Cockneys. ///

I don't know how old you are, but I remember a time before WW2 when practically everyone was white, if you are not that old look at some old newsreels if you don't believe me.
The only foreign person I saw in those days was a Turkish chappie who would knock on doors selling carpets, that was until the American forces landed in England, along with other nationalities from around the world.
When war ended these chaps went back to their own countries, except for a number of Poles, then of course the Labour Party introduced mass immigration into this country and then England along with it's major cities altered considerably.
It is and will always be English. Population wise, maybe not so much as it's multi-cultural.
Can't be all that bad , The Queen lives there, Boris Johnson was once the Mayor. What more could one wish for ?.

/// all these anti-immigrant people taking themselves off to Barbados or Australia. No sense of irony. ///

Some can't afford to do that, but many of the indigenous population have been forced to move out of certain city districts because they have been taken over by peoples of a different culture.
How are they forced out?
I'd need someone to define 'English city' before I can comment on whether he's correct or not.

My impression whenever I go there nowadays is that most of the people seem to be from abroad, either because they're tourists or migrant workers.

/// And then the facts on London’s population:
White British - 45%
Asian - 18% ///

And even that percentage is high even though you have left out Afro-Caribbeans and Africans plus Eastern Europeans etc, etc.
" River of Blood " and that was in 1968, I think .
What's 'river of blood'?
You know the answer to that, Talbot :-)
ummmm

/// How are they forced out? ///

Because they no longer wish to live in an area that has become foreign to them, and therefore does not provide the typical English amenities that they once enjoyed.
That's choice, not forced.

/// You know the answer to that, Talbot :-) ///

Do they mean the 'Rivers of Blood' that flows on the streets of London on an almost daily basis?
You know the answer to that also, AOG.
I thought it was obvious that The River OF Blood was in regards to the speech made by the lovely Enoch Powell,
How much of his speech was true.?
What kind of establishment is an English amenity?
ummmm

/// That's choice, not forced. ///

Don't be so pedantic.

One was forced to move off the beach because of the incoming tide.

One chose to move off the beach because of the incoming tide.
Ummm
There is a special phrase that has now been coined for it. 'The White Flight'
There was a story in the papers about an woman up North who was the last white person in her street. She was asked to sell up her property to a Asian neighbour and she refused. From then on she was threatened and harrassed to the extent she did leave her house of many years. There is only so much dog excrement one can take through your letter box on a regular basis. :-(
I will look for a link.
Retro, I'm not ignorant to it, I know it happens.

The local CO-OP, ladies and gentlemen's western outfitters, ironmongers or DIY shop, the Church, the community hall, to be able to walk safely in the park.
