Lump in throat, tear in eye – and that from someone who wasn’t around on D-Day but is nevertheless eternally grateful for the sacrifice made by that generation. I hope it is never forgotten. Heartfelt thanks to them all.

What a really bizarre statement or point of view by those elderly French. They are implying that it's OK to 'slaughter' some civilians but the Allies 'slaughtered' more than needed to be. How many more: 20, 1000, 5000...? I would really like to see or read that video or article that RR is alluding to.
