There are two or three rounds of voting to go, so it might not be the foregone conclusion it appears now. And Boris is only ever 5 minutes from an embarrassing gaffe, so it could all go pear shaped very quickly. It is scary that someone so obviously unsuitable is the front runner to lead a scary and unsuitable Government.

I just hope you're right, I'd. But there is a huge anti Bojo movement among Tory MPs and they must be plotting something even as we speak.
Nj almost a third of them voted for Boris. Why would they change their minds?
Can't be that huge if he got well over a third of the votes. The second round will be interesting and should tell us more about which way the wind is blowing
There are now 317 Conservative MPs.
184 voted Remain in the Referendum, that is well over half.
Would any of those vote for Boris? I don’t know, but I doubt it.
Boris got 114 on the first round. At the Referendum 139 conservative MPs voted to Leave, so he does have the potential to pick up some more votes.
My guess is he will come second in the final vote and win in the members vote.
I haven't read the posts yet, but in which way would it be undemocratic? Boris is very intelligent and far from a buffoon, imo. I think we could do far worse than him (and clearly have!).
Boris, Lip Before Brain . described on Telly today as Motormouth , he just can not control what comes out of it.
Gulliver, pot and kettle.
Pixie at 11:31, I agree. And apart from that I think we need someone with a lively personality and a bit of charisma right now.
We have been sadly lacking in any character so far... we need somebody with someone with some guts now.
Step up to the mark Boris and make us proud ..

Pixie, it is clearly an undemocratic process when 160000 or so Tories can decide who the Prime Minister is in this government which does not have a majority in the House of Commons (only propped up by a small bunch of NI bigots). A General Election is an absolute must to sort out this shambles.
I think that the only democratic thing to do at this moment, is to find someone who will absolutely achieve Brexit, no matter what. Everything else is just pussyfooting around. Do you think Boris won't deliver it? Or are you worried that he will?
Boris and Farage have got a lot in common , mainly they are in the game for themselves ,they could not give a toss for joe public and the working man.
gulliver, who is the working man?
Boris, just does delivers and he is a liar.

He has just decided he will take part in the televised debates after declining.
Also check out his failings as a mayor:

^^not!!
There are two possible outcomes to a GE now, rich:

1. Another hung Parliament which will solve nothing or

2. A Corbyn government. If it is the 2nd a No Deal Brexit will be stroll in the park.
If Boris is not in the final two this time I think the Tories will be sunk, even more so if the quislings put forward two Remainers.

Time will tell.

There are 50 votes that are now floating (with the elimination of 4 candidates) but quiet Boris won’t be in sundays debate (but the other 5 are). I expect they will put the boot in, in his absence.
I Wonder how many of the 50 he will get in the second round.
If Hunt managed to get all 50 votes, Boris would still be in the lead.
