Wildly disproportionate. But the gutter press love to initiate disharmony and distrust. They are benefiting from our stupidity for tolerating such trivial trash.
Bobbisox, the important point about this situation is the fact that there is going to be an election in Canada in October. This is what I posted on another thread: Some of you are ignoring the fact that this incident came to light during a pre-election period in Canada, and we all know that all is fair in love, war, and politics. Here is an article from one of their newspapers: https://canoe.com/opinion/columnists/gunter-by-his-own-standards-trudeau-doesnt-deserve-a-free-pass/wcm/a4d94460-193c-47f1-8432-cfa62cc082d2
Like I said on the original thread, fuss about nothing.

Apolgies sanmac,I’ve been out and haven’t long been back in so I didn’t see your thread
Hey, even if it was my thread apologies are not needed. I'm not one of those posters who get almost incensed when a similar thread to an existing one is posted.

I know you’re not sanmac
Yes.

Arghhh, not the yes/no answer Spicy, you’re not that way inclined now are you? Haha
Most definitely blown out of proportion. We have a royal prince attending partys dressed as a Nazi complete with swastika armbands and salutes.
I suppose some will say he married his bride as a form of apology. :-(

You're overlooking the fact that Justine is the Queen of PC ***wittery.
He would happily ruin your life for using one wrong word.
This is a case of the biter bit.
And some of the people defending him would be singing a very different tune if this were Boris or omg, Trump.
Indeed, if this incident had involved Johnson or Trump I would imagine that some of the responses on the two threads discussing this would be completely different.
It’s a thing now over there in the US and Canada. It will be with us shortly.

To smear your opponent all you have to do is trawl through social media (if they’re young enough) or collage year books to dig out dirt, someone willing to dish the dirt, someone willing to stretch the truth or lie about dirt and hay presto you have a hit piece mad in pc heaven.

Over there cultural appropriation, black face and any historic reference to anti ‘whatever the most minority worth cause is’ and you are a duck in the sights of the progressive left. They even eat their own for minor infringement of the woke rules.

So from my and probably the vast majority of the UK point of view, yes it is over the top.

But as I say. Beware for it is only a matter of time for us to catch up.

Yep, America sneezes and the UK catches cold Cassa
I was going to say similar to Spicerack (I'm as surprised as anyone). If it was a right wing politician who'd done that, the Left would be forming a political possé to bring them down. Trudeau has to take his medicine.
Catching a cold implies that Cameron dressed up as Her Maj when he supposedly coached her to beat up the Sturgeon's no vote......it was DC all the time - where was the gorgeous, pouting Sam?
Eh?
That's a good imagination sanmac.
