When it comes to winning votes, or in this case, trying to ensure that your opponent loses them, there are no rules, anything and everything is fair game.
The vast majority of people see this for what it is - behaviour that may have been tolerated then, and is absolutely not tolerated now, and a politician who has to apologise for the stupidity of youth.
His opponents will endeavour to use this ill-judged behaviour then, to infer that Mr Trudeau cannot be trusted as a politician now, which is tenuous at best, but any and all votes he loses will considered worth the trouble to his opposition.

I get fed up with the constant criticism and condemnation of the 'nasty, racist' white man, both by some blacks, but mainly from our own media and the snowflakes that are offended on the black's behalf. Instead of encouraging 'togetherness' it only goes to do the opposite.
I am all for a level playing field, so why don't we see equal condemnation of the more serious offences committed by the black communities in this country and abroad, perhaps they could start by addressing what the blacks are doing to the whites in South Africa and other predominately black countries.
Much more serious that the act of just blacking up.
Regarding blacking up, perhaps the late great Michael Jackson should be criticised for 'whitening up'?

Really couldn't care less what colour he paints himself. But I am enjoying seeing him squirm after years of headline grabbing to further his image as a woke right on luvvie. Have a look at his back catalogue of costumes straight out of the cultural appropriation dressing up box as well.
