I never thought I'd support John Major but in preference to what we have in his place I'm right with him.

it's all just across the channel diddly, why not move there?
fender, NO all the more reason he should not be supporting them.
//The Masstricht Treaty was brilliant...//

It certainly was - if you were looking for individual European nations to be subsumed into a federal superstate ruled by unelected bureaucrats. It was a huge step on the way to that situation.

Apologies for typo - Euro zone obviously.
TTT - I go across the Channel frequently , many of my greatest friends live there.
diddly and her ilk do want that judge, they like being ruled by unelected bureaucrats.
"I go across the Channel frequently , many of my greatest friends live there. " - so why not join them in utopia?
Diddly //.TTT - I go across the Channel frequently ,//
But you keep coming back.
Masstricht?
You've spelt 'tricked' wrongly.

I do wish you lot would stop going on about unelected bureaucrats. Haven't you heard of MEPs? Or maybe you couldn't be a**** to vote?
Did you vote for Tusk and Junker etc ?
as a devotee of the EUSSR diddly you appear to have very little idea of how it functions. The "parliament" is merely a talking shop, with very little power. The real power lies with the unelected commission.
Diddly MEP's do not make decisions. the likes of Barnier and Tusk do that.
//I do wish you lot would stop going on about unelected bureaucrats. Haven't you heard of MEPs? //
They are part of a talking-shop called the Parliament, the show is run by the Commission whom you can't vote for & will henceforth be presided over by Ursula von der Leyen, who has been a disaster in German politics so far, so God help Europe.
BTW, you can say arsed on here but you can't say Rse.
Mentioned many many times. MEPs are a sop for those who want the EU to have a facade of democracy. Their purpose is to rubber stamp the Commission's decisions. And on the rare occasions a majority have the gall to reject something, it can be brought back under a different guise or after some sweetener changes a few minds in order to get it passed anyway. The bureaocrats remain unelected, there by patronage of who they know, and then dictate to all.
I think we've just overloaded diddly's brain.
She's just realised she's got it all wrong, that she's been duped and that socialism is a cancer.
She's run out to buy a blue cardigan and won't wear anything else until the Blue flag is flying here...
there is more joy in Tory HQ when 1 socialist repents.....
Do you not wonder, in view of the obvious disregard for the well being and future of the UK, and now the confession that our serial poster of false information, has rather a penchant for EUSSR tendencies whether she is in fact British? Maybe British by birth but with ancestry that was until recently not at all British. I seem to recall that our other poster of such tripe, you know the one that was like an echo of this thread, letting slip that he did not live in the UK. It would explain a lot.
Just to answer a points from earlier in this thread:
Mines that were closed under Labour had become uneconomical due to the reduction in workable coal. Staff from those mines were deployed elsewhere. Twatcher closed them out of vindictiveness towards organised labour. She was a tyrant.
It is because of Labour govts, that we now have the NHS; employment protection; health and safety at work; a welfare system that cares for those who need it. And we won the World Cup under Labour! :o)
The Tories felt that John Major was the better option to Twatcher in the circumstances.
