Why Do You Think That The Duchess Of Sussex Is Treated Differently To The Duchess Of Cambridge For Exactly The Same Behaviour?
When it’s laid out like this, it seems pretty shocking.
What do you think the reasons are?

"that is the not- to- be- missed opportunity to take offence by proxy." I'm not sure that noting a obvious bias in reporting is taking offence on someones behalf. Just because I notice the sky is blue doesn't mean that I'm suddenly taking offence. An observation is exactly that and only that, Naomi. I think you need a sit down, you can't understand the point...

I personally think that, The dutchess of Cambridge is married and courted the heir to the throne. Papers sell because she will be our future queen as you could say, so people are interested in their life.
Meghan and Harry? Less so. They are not relevant. Their child is not relevant so no one really cares too much about reading every little detail, because they or their child will never be relevant in the royal family. So, to help the papers sell stories they make it edgy by either being defamatory or putting a spin on things for the shock factor.

The way that the same behaviour is framed completely differently though.
I mean, even the baby bump!
It’s only when you compare the stories side by side that you can see how the way they are treated for the same thing is skewed.
The off-the-shoulder dress. On one it’s marvellous, and on the other it’s breaking royal protocol!

I think naomi24 was responding to my point in the OP. It’s true that they don’t behave in the same way - but when they do, they’re reported completely differently.
I should’ve made that clearer.
The question is why?
Do the papers need a ‘baddie’ like they had with Mrs Simpson in the 50s, Princess Margaret in the 70s and Princess Michael of Kent in the 80s?

SP, I think it's because Meghan behaves like a diva - and anyone who does that is likely to encounter criticism - albeit at times unwarranted. Some elements of the media have a tendency to pick holes at any opportunity. Witness their treatment of Mr Trump. Wrong whatever he does - and he's not a member of an ethnic minority - which in Meghan's case is what I think you're getting at.

Are you sure she actually behaves like a diva?
Could it be because this is what the very sane papers tell you?
Remember that story about the Sussexes saying an edict telling locals around their home not to ask for selfies or photographs of the couple.
Totally made up.
What other diva moments are there?
I wonder how many of them originate from news desks?

First of all, it's nothing to do with race (except perhaps in the minds of racists).
They've taken a dislike to MM and she has been cast in the role of pantomime villain. There's also an element of her only being the wife of the 'spare' so she's fair game to 5l@g off like any other celebrity whereas Kate being the future queen, is saintly and can do no wrong.
If anything goes wrong with that marriage she'll come in for the same treatment. The same thing happened with princess Di and Sarah Ferguson.
