Sicerack //There are 40,000 of these creatures on Jihad watch and it takes 20+ officers to watch one of them.// The idea that in order to protect society (the first duty of any government) we have to have more & more police surveillance of potential Jihadis is misguided 'top-down' thinking. We have to attack the root causes. These attacks have a religious...

Oh yes, I know :-). Your posts are pure speculation, naomi. You clearly don't have the first idea why people commit violence. You may know about religion, I trust you on that, but anything further and you seem well out of your depth.
AH, Telling pixie she’s thick isn’t nice. You should know better. Anyone may have an opinion. Better to learn the truth though.
That is what I said, naomi. However, you have given no facts about the reasons... just a presumption (which is wrong) that religion can cause violence. That is opinion, not a fact.
Is ISIS not enough to back up Naomi's claim?
No.
It's also a selection bias. Muslim terrorism is clearly a huge issue, but it pales into insignificance compared to other deadly crimes. Also these things go in waves. In the UK, 100 have died in terrorist attacks in the last 20 years, of which most are due to Islamic terrorism, but before that there were something in the region of 3500 people killed due to terrorism in Northern Ireland alone.

The most recent threat is getting the most attention, of course, but it won't be the last source and it isn't the most dominant source either. If you move beyond terrorism to murder in general, that also dwarfs Islam terrorism victims. Sadly, but truthfully, humans can just be nasty. Religion is just an excuse. Pixie is right.
Take it or leave it. FF.
Thank you, Jim x
AH. You don't seem to understand what a psychopath is. You should read up on it.
You too, Jim.
Why was he even out? Just the libzz releasing "Britain's" potential your honour.
>Just the libzz releasing "Britain's" potential your honour.
I thought he'd served his sentence. I'm not sure how the libzz influenced anything in this case. But I think most of us agree they need to rethink the criteria for sentencing and release of those convicted of terrorism since it is clear that any attempts to deradicalize are not working and may never work, and their prison spells may actually be hardening their attitudes
Naomi - // AH, Telling pixie she’s thick isn’t nice. //

Of course it's not, and with your low opinion of me, you probably imagine that I meant that post as it reads.

Fortunately your opinion of me matters even less than my opinion of yu so your schoolmarm'ish 'You should know better … ' bounces right off.

However, Pixie's opinion is something I do value, and I know her well enough to know that she knows when I am being ironic, and since the post was for her, and not your adjudication, neither of us need your judgement, thanks very much.

// Anyone may have an opinion. //

Wow, I bet we are sighing a relief for that permission!!

// Better to learn the truth though. //

And even better is not to post your views as though they are facts - which you continually do, and which others besides me notice, not that it will change your position of superiority, which remains unassailable, as ever.
Jackdaw - // Is ISIS not enough to back up Naomi's claim? //

Not really, no.

It's been going twenty-one years now, and although it does have sway in large amounts of Africa and Asia, it has yet to fulfil its promise to sweep across the world and eliminate the infidel.
Ludwig - // AH. You don't seem to understand what a psychopath is. You should read up on it. //

Assuming you know what I know, and what I have read, when obviously you do not, is Naomi's trick and she doesn't know either, although she pronounces as though she does.

I do understand what a psychopath is.

I have read up about it.

Thank you for your input.
Jim - // You too, Jim. //

Naughty boy, you've hit a nerve, and triggered a thread flounce!!

Shame on you.
Of course he could have just been mentally ill. We may never know now.
Togo - // Of course he could have just been mentally ill. We may never know now. //

You, and other posters, seem keen to use the term 'mentally ill' in a sneering way to suggest that this would be an excuse for murderous intent.

The fact is, by any measurable standard, this man was mentally ill, since stabbing total strangers is not the behaviour of a rational mind.

And you sneer about mental illness as though it is used as a liberal lefty hand-wringing get-out clause is an insult to the people on here who have, or do suffer from mental illness.

Maybe you should re-think your attitude before you poke fun about such a serious condition which often has tragic outcomes.
