Togo's debunked nothing. Trump's handling of the crisis is questionable at the very least, and his continued attempt to deflect blame, to pretend that it's under "tremendous control", and to either lie deliberately or get basic facts wrong, are harming the US's ability to respond to this. And the thing is, this should be politically uncontroversial. Despite the ludicrous slurs earlier, nobody wants the US approach to fail as some kind of sick attempt to score points: it's manifestly in everybody's best interests for Trump's response to be effective. But it clearly has not been, and continues to fall short of what's needed. The declaration of a national emergency was a necessary and important step, and Trump's attempts to strike an optimistic note are not unreasonable of themselves. But it's not enough.
The only major saving grace for Trump is that no other Western government is handling this very well either.
