During the height of the Syrian refugee problem a lot of people such as Nicola Sturgeon,Bob Geldof,Yvette Balls-Cooper and her husband and Lily Allen all took some of these refugees into their many roomed mansions.During this corona-virus pandemic are all these refugees still with their hospitable friends?Just wondering.
A lot of cynics on this site said these kind-hearted people never took in a single refugee. In fact some of the more cynical said they never intended to,just said it to boost their right-on credentials.Does anyone on this site know the actual figures for how many each individual took in?
I have searched the internet, and I can not find any confirmation that those people have actually got Syrian refugees living in their homes. I have found several promises, but real action seems to be absent.
So,basically these people were"talking the talk, and not walking the walk"...in effect using the desperate plight of these refugees for their own ends.Despicable.
I don't see why they wouldn't be. You don't know that they were talking the talk.....I do know Geldof wasn't. They've all probably helped more than you have.
What facts do you want,Karl?I dont do links, but as far as i know all those named stated that they would take in some Syrian refugees.Later,Lily Allen backtracked and said she couldnt take in any refugees because she had young daughters in her home.
Bizarre is not the word for it,Ich.I still havent had an answer to my question. Are these refugees still living with their welcomers and sponsors or were they never taken in the first place?
