// a number of people on this site who claim to be compliant with the lockdown but who go against the rules when it suits them e.g. going food shopping on an almost daily basis //
the country has had only 6 weeks to get used to this, against a backdrop of many people having a lifetime of "just enough, just in time" shopping, especially those who live in smaller accommodation and may not even have room for a freezer. the shops had got used to that too and many no longer have stores, their storage area is now the truck making the delivery (you could see that on Thursday evenings when supermarkets used to run short of essentials because the "storeroom" was stuck in the traffic somewhere). it is changing gradually, society needs time to take all of this on board. it's reported in today's press that the "weekly shop" is now back I fashion, but it's taken us 6 weeks to get here.
