Of course Boris is right not to ease lock down.

Imagine if we spent all this time, effort and money to take the measures we have, just to blow it all away by lifting restrictions early.

I' rather spend a further 3 weeks - a month inside now... So that we can be free afterwards. If we all come out now then we'll have to do the whole process over again.

If we're gon do it, why not do it right.

I can’t believe I’m agreeing with you TD, ‘happydays’
I agree. I would rather stay in lockdown longer than risk another rise in infections
Question Author
Me also Tiggs ,else all this would have been for nothing
He is right not to ease lockdown probably, but left lockdown start a bit later than he should have
Question Author
I also agree with that Steggers ( I’m being very agreeable this morning) ;0)
I don't agree, even if we stayed in lockdown for another year those who came out at the end of it (because they hadn't topped themselves because of financial ruin or been battered by a household member driven to the edge) would still have to face a probable re-infection rate. It's not going to die off while we're stuck at home. I see the only answer as a decent vaccine and meanwhile I'd rather take my chances and get on with life.
A tricky one for me, what is all this doing to the economy? Look at BA. As someone has said, the tip of the iceberg.
Question Author
That’s my fervent wish, to wake up to the news a vaccine has been found
No he shouldn't ease it but I do wish he had started it earlier. Also I think he could have prepared for the lockdown in better fashion instead of trying to patch-up.

It’s a case of damned if they do and damned if they don’t , personally speaking , if it was lifted tomorrow, I’d still be worried about going out and about, such is the fear that’s been instilled in us
I hope there is some movement soon but it's got to be a slow process done in stages over many months.
A second peak now would be a huge blow and may overrun the NHS and care sectors, and may mean things like planned ops may have to be put back on hold
Spot-on Prudie.
Trying to keep away from the hysteria on AB covid posts folks.
I also have to agree with the devil as I am afraid this new graph emerges.

I ,too, would also like to 'get on with my life' but not at the expense of others and being responsible for initiating a second phase.
For those who compare this with the 'blitz spirit' I am beginning to think they are wrong, Too much selfishness starting to emerge and another 'diddlecakesquith' factor that can be mulled over is the casualty rate has exceeded that of the 'blitz'. the war lasted 6 years. We have only just began. :-(
I saw that diddlecakesquith word used the other day - I don't get the squith bit. That must be anne, not noticed her doom mongering particularly or have I just not noticed?
yes the PM is correct to keep it going for now but this is not sustainable much longer. I went out yesterday and the roads were starting to look like normal. I think people are starting to ignore it anyway.
Prudie, could you clarify your comment ‘ It's not going to die off while we're stuck at home’.
A few more weeks and we'll have confirmed the absolute futility and nonsense that is association football possibly ending the odd linguistic stylings and excuse making skills of the retired kickster turned 'expert' and freeing the airwaves from their drivel for ever.

That's a price I'm willing to pay.
Wow, Germany have a virus reproduction rate.

We haven’t because we are not testing properly.

The UK is reduced to just guessing without any data.
We all have a reproduction rate, Gromit. It’s the R0 or Rzero number we’ve heard so much about.
