... would like to find some excuse for this second breach of lockdown - after he was well and back at work - and when (presumably) the 'childcare' emergency was no longer valid reason?

What you think is irrelevant. If the government think he's doing a good job, they'll keep him. That's what all employers do. //
What I think is no more or less 'relevant' than what anyone else thinks - including you.
We are expressing our views, and exchanging them, that is what we do on here, so why you single me out as having an 'irrelevant' opinion is a mystery.
You offer your opinion freely - do you imagine only yours is worth hearing?
Probably you do.

diddly - // This could run and run, especially after Boris's performance this evening. He is completely devoid of any morality in his feeble attempt to defend the indefensible. //
I agree.
If any paper has got hold of camera footage of Mr Cummings anywhere in the north of England, he, and Boris, are toast.

AH: "If any paper has got hold of camera footage of Mr Cummings anywhere in the north of England, he, and Boris, are toast. " - how will that change anything? He's not denying anything is he?
Gawd this lefty love in has gone on a while, must be record amounts of Organic peace porridge spat over the lefty screens of Britain!

It will be undeniable evidence to back up the rumours that Mr Cummings broke lockdown rules on more than one occasion, and that he visited a tourist attraction when he claimed to be self-isolating.

Dumb
It doesn't take a mathematician
To add a simple sum
we've had hundreds and hundreds of posts about...
Dom dom dom
It doesn't take Robert the Bruce
To see the web she's spun.
Why is there no interest here on AB about Nicola Sturgeon?
Why are the same people obsessed with Cummings' shenanigans not bothered about those of Sturgeon?
Or have I missed that thread?

TTT - // you mean that there is no evidence that he broke the rules currently? //
The short answer is, I have no idea, but I would not be surprised if the Mirror and / or other papers have evidence they have been holding to see whether or not Mr Cummings was fired or not. On that, we will have to wait and see.
// So why are the ABBC and assorted lefties in raptures? So just hope and speculation? //
I have no idea who the 'ABBC' is / are, and as for the 'assorted lefties', I am not one of them, so you would have to ask them about that.

If this were all above board and justifiable - why mary Wakefield hide the fact that they'd travelled up north in her Spectator piece?
TTT / Roy - interest in this story is not confined to AB. This is a huge new story everywhere, and not just in the left wing press.
You're effectively saying "Shush please".
I don't think that's going to happen.
But Roy - why not open a thread about Nicola Sturgeon? There's nothing stopping you.

This Business about Agent Dom breaking lock down rules is really nothing new to A/B. I Can remember a radicalised Conservative supporter on here, at about the same time in April, planning to go and pick his Son up from University, thinking the rules applied to everyone else, but not to him. He also was a "Typical Tunnel visioned Tory"

I think this situation is a little different.
We are not talking a 'radicalised Conservative supporter' (really??!!) - we are talking the chief adviser to the Prime Minister and one of the main architects of the lock-down process, and it's mantra - stay at home.
