... would like to find some excuse for this second breach of lockdown - after he was well and back at work - and when (presumably) the 'childcare' emergency was no longer valid reason?

Oh dear! Two faced git!
Maybe this 'special aide' is 'special' in the remedial education sense.
You're wasting your time. He's a Tory which, round these parts, makes him above the law.
He's a gift that just keeps on giving isn't he!!!
My second...Oh my! ....of the day... :-)
He should definitely be sacked if he won't resign, won't hold my breath waiting though.
He can't be sacked. He's too important to the other major topic right now.
Boris has given the old 'full support' - let's hope that's the football club chairman's 'full support' for his manager, which usually means the sack is on the way tomorrow!!
Ah yes.......the dreaded "vote of confidence"!

There must be some *very* angry Cabinet Ministers, who have been left looking very foolish because they were bullied into backing Cummings, before the latest revelations appeared - nicely timed by The Mirror and Observer.
let's hope that's the football club chairman's 'full support' for his manager,

Ohhhh yes, lets hope it's the Doug Ellis ( RIP ) type of full support.
The timing was just brilliant, Dave..... :-)

Great minds - it was the late Mr Ellis I was thinking of when I typed that!!
3 threads on this...spoilt for choice.

I'm feeling a 'we shouldn't have had a lockdown for that long in the first place' coming on.
This is terrible. Who's going to run the country if Cummings goes?
The Government has said Cummings was within the guidelines.

Guidelines are not rules.

If he's acted within the guidelines, then he's done nothing wrong.

I'm not an "apologist" for Cummings - but I do know the difference between rules and guidelines, so stating he should be sacked is, frankly, stupid.

People appear to be think that Cummings and Boris even care about the latest developments . They don’t.

Tell that to that Scottish medical advisor who got hounded into resigning for breaking lockdown guidelines, or the dozens of celebs etc who have bee n forced to apologise for similar.
