It's a touchy topic. Not all women menstruate but all those who menstruate are women (technically). What society allows them to identify as is up to society.
I would never suggest that they are - but don't let that stop you following me round the site looking for a fight - again.
Seriously, andy, I think you have an illness.
The last time I was on the same thread as you it was my own thread where your only objective was to cause disruption. So who was following who?
And how many off-topic post did you make on that thread?
Mushroom your link itself has completely contradicted what you wanted to say - "/Wow, so males menstruate. Never knew that.//
yep they can do....."
That person can because they are physically and biologically still a woman and not a man.
I originally applauded JK for sticking to her views, it's a bit disappointing that she now (under pressure no doubt) has to attempt to excuse them by revealing some earlier abuse.
J K Rowling is right. Regardless of what women call themselves, only women menstruate. Despite what Harry and Hermione say, no one should be required for the sake of political correctness or anything else to jump on the bandwagon that encourages deception.
I think she said that trans people if they don't have periods are not women.
Uterine transplants are being carried out now on some women who were born without wombs and ovaries. Depending on how successful these are the process will then be carried out on transgenders .Then they will have periods. I don't know how going on at length about her own personal experience of sexual abuse etc.has anything to do with it.
