Trump gave Boris a roasting, and now the poodle is obeying his masters call.

Mike Pence, US vice-president, said after the Huawei decision that the Trump administration had made its disappointment at the UK decision “very clear to them”. But the extent of Mr Trump’s anger was unknown until now. //

There is a growing feeling that China can’t be allowed to get away with the Xi policy of worming its way into foreign affairs and backing up its advances with threats. Some might seem petty and on the face of it harmless. But did you know for example that they pressurised the City of London into dropping a float at the Lord Mayors Show from the Republic of China. That’s before you consider the repression of the Uighurs and Tibetans.
I think Johnson does care a bit about Hong Kong or he wouldn’t open the door to 3 million of them.
Trump on the other hand will likely be gone soon. It’s not in any case easy to formulate any sort of response to a world leader who appears to be totally incoherent on most matters.

I am glad we, along with Countries like the US and Australia are standing up the CCP. They are bullies and bullies need to be dealt with. It was not just the USA concerned with the security other nations we share secrets with were not happy and on top of that we have the disgusting events in HK.

There are two massive trading nations outside of the EU: the USA and China.
Several years ago, the likes of George Osborne decided to woo China. As a result, in the time in-between, China has made significant "investments" into UK infrastructure.
Now, Osborne's long gone and Boris is in. Boris is more of a USA man. And that's it.
Nothing has changed as far as Huawei's trustworthiness is concerned. All that's changed is where our leaders' loyalties lie.
