Uk National Debt Over £2 Trillion
More than 100% of GDP.
When Labour left office in 2010 the National Debt was less than £1 Trillion, so the Tories have managed to double it. Will the electorate ever forgive the Conservatives again for trouncing the economy?

Of course, everything you read is biased by some lens or other, but there's enough objective fact for you to research and form your own opinion. And my opinion is that there's corruption/sleaze/cronyism.
Here's an article from a couple of weeks ago, for example:

OK, it's from The Guardian. But look at the facts of the case it's putting across, and there's enough there to pique an interest from any but the blindly faithful. This one article describes five cases:
* Prospermill
* Robert Jenrick / Richard Desmond
* £1M contracts to AI firm Faculty
* £840K contract to Public First
* PM's list of nominations to the House of Lords
And it doesn't even mention Dido Harding. Unlike this Spectator article ... a slightly more right-wing source:
https:/ /www.sp ectator .co.uk/ article /matt-h ancock- will-re gret-ap pointin g-dido- harding
While that article is quite brutal about Dido Harding within the Government, it doesn't point out that, as well as her various governmental roles, she is on the board of the Jockey Club:

Then you wonder why the Cheltenham Festival went ahead in March.

Danny, happy to leave it at that since it's off-topic to this thread.
TTT, I did tell you:
> In a choice between Crappy and Crappier, I'm not going to rejoice that Crappy won and has been even more Crappy than I expected ever since.
So no, I wouldn't have preferred Corbyn in power. I would have preferred better options than the utter dross that was presented to us. For many years now, it's been on a downward spiral. Ever since Thatcher's demise, in fact. And I don't see any prospect of reversing that, which is miserable.

In 2010 the nation debt was £987Billion. That was not good, and the Conservatives have constantly promised improvement, but have spectacularly not delivered.
Conservative Manifesto 2010
Promise: - Gordon Brown’s debt, waste and taxes have wrecked the economy and threaten to kill the recovery. A Conservative government will take action now, we will create a new economic model built on investment and savings, not borrowing and debt.
Result: - Borrowing and Debt increased further
Conservative Manifesto 2015
Promise: -The greatest impact a government can have on future generations is the amount it chooses to borrow to pay for current spending. Borrowing always means spending money you do not have; but government borrowing differs because the repayment falls to others – those who come later, including people not yet born. Conservatives believe in balancing the books and paying down debts – because it is wrong to pass to future generations a bill you cannot or will not pay yourself.
The next Conservative government will continue the difficult but necessary work of restoring our public finances while still ensuring that we are investing for the future.
Result: - The national debt continued to increase rapidly.
Conservative Manifesto 2017
Promise: - The ONS Office forecasts that the national debt is finally about to start falling.
Result: - It didn’t. Y March 2019 it had doubled since the Conservatives came into office.
Conservative Manifesto 2019
Promise: - Debt will be lower at the end of the Parliament – rather than spiralling out of control under Labour.
Result: - We won’t know for 5 years, but seems unlikely.
