Wasnt this the same incompetent who spent £12,000,000 of taxpayers money on a ferry company with no ferries?

It was indeed the same man.

But he's only resigned from some committee or other, not from Parliament.
What has he resigned from? Not that it will be any loss.
Crossed posts with NJ. He was the one who failed to be elected chairman of a select committee despite No. 10 pulling all the strings it could muster.

Some kind of a security and intellgence kind of thing Jackdaw,at least we will be able to sleep sounder in our beds knowing this eejit wont be "protecting"us anymore.
Is he still a Con man , thought I read somewhere that he is golng to stand as an Independant.

Surely the Tories can come up with something worth voting for in 4 years time. There used to be a government of all the talents, nowadays we have a government of all the people who cant get a proper job anywhere elsewhere.Who votes for these p*ndl*fe?
Good luck to him, then. Only one Independent has actually been elected to parliament in the past 30 years, and that was due to very special circumstances.

@09.07.An independant(sic),Gully? We dont have rotten buroughs anymore. The voters who voted this chancer in looks like they were mugged.Would they vote for a monkey in a blue rosette?Thatcher must be turning in her grave.
“ Author Some kind of a security and intellgence kind of thing”

The Intelligence and Security committee, which Boris Johnson wanted him to chair until wiser Tories intervened.
I didn’t realise he was actually on it.
A bit like Oliver Reed resigning from a temperance society
The sorry take summarised here

it takes a special kind of person to lose an election that's been rigged in their favour...…...

Its great to know that all my hard earned tax-monies are being used to pay for all these worse than useless non-entities.

@09.21.Who did Labour or the Lib-Dems put up against him at the last election-Coco the Clown,or Eric the dog out of the Blackadder sketches?
Neither. Either would have beaten him hands down.

Are there no sensible, clever, trustworthy Tories anymore? While i would like to vote for a sensible Tory Party nowadays,i just cant.As i said Thatcher must be turning in her grave.
There are plenty of sensible, clever, trustworthy Tories. Unfortunately they tend to go unnoticed.
Question Author
They certainly dont get elected into power thats for sure,Jackdaw.Mores the pity.
09.44 J/D " There are plenty of sensible, clever, trustworhy Tories". What the hell are you on ? at this time of the day.
The Kraken Wakes!
The problem is that Boris Johnson cares little for competency.
If he did he wouldn’t have Priti Patel as Home Secretary, Gavin Williamson as Education Secretary, Liz Truss etc etc
And he certainly wouldn’t have pushed Grayling forward as chair of the ISC. Ne er mind tolerate him being on it.
Many of the better candidates have either left (a few packed off to the Lords where they are no longer a threat) or kicked out or just ignored.
This will be his downfall
You make a fair point, Ich. I had high hopes for Boris but am beginning to feel let down. The only hope now is that he himself will come to realise this, turn the tables and drain the swamp.
