Curfew Carnage?

well, who'd a thought it? everything shuts at 10pm so everyone gets turned out on to the streets, into ubers and on to buses trains and tubes. no possibility of social distancing!

so instead of getting touchy feely in a late night bar, everyone now gets touchy feely on their way home, net result - the virus spreads as if there had been no curfew. did our politicos not think of this at all?

Take someone like myself - I usually go out every Fri and Sat to my local at around 8.00 - 8.30 ish.
Now with last orders being called at 9.15, there's no point in going out for just an hour, so this weekend, I went out at 6.30.
I was bumping into the afternoon drinkers that have usually supped up and gone home by the time I'm out at my usual time.
Yes you can argue that we're all meant to be socially distancing, wearing masks, etc ..... but I'm now in the same room with people that I usually wouldn't be with - it's an increased risk; no matter how small.

// last orders was 10 mins before closing //
it was, when there was 10mn drinking up time allowed after "closing". now, all hospitality venues must be cleared and shut by 10pm. it'll be up to businesses how they manage that but there can be no customers on the premises after 10. they could call last orders at 9-40, close at 9-50 and all drunk-up by 10, but that really would be rushing things.

//// ( Forced)? Who's forcing you? ////
I used that word kinda tongue in cheek :)
I work all week and I only drink at the weekend, so I like to go out for at least 2 - 3 hours.
My local calls last orders at 9.15, so people can start getting their last drinks in .... they probably stop serving at 9.30 ish .... giving everyone time to sup out and be out for 10.00
