Should be very good news for all the Answerbanks who think poor families spend too much on smoking, gambling, etc, so should get NO more handouts!
Let them eat cake! Or nothing.
Charles Dickens would not believe it.

A couple of weeks ago, alan, you were having a right rant against poor people who P'd all their money up the wall. You, on the other hand, were so virtuous, you could afford private medicine and dared anyone to have a problem with that. (nobody did)
Oh, and Dickens liked to talk the talk but he didn't much like walking the walk. (like a lot of you Lefties, I'll warrant)

Allen, did you read my answer, I don't advocate free school meals I want a solution far more extensive, if one child in a family is hungry chances are the whole family need help, free school meals do stigmatize children. Why not put the help into the families who can use the help responsibly and for the few that can't take those children right out of the situation to safe places where they can spend the day having fun and being children.

////While at the same time our esteemed decision-makers can wine and dine on subsidised rib-eye steak and claret.////
I would need more than that plus the £180,000 annual salary to keep THE UK electorate happy.
However.....throw in a couple of the 16 Vestal Virgins and I might......just might....change my mind.
