Other people's suggestion that we consider this just adds a layer of guilt and sense of being unfairly judged too what already may seem a difficult situation.

Yeh, the one time I have suffered clinical depression was one of the most privileged times of my life. No-one saying 'you should not feel like this, because of this, that and the other' made any difference. In fact, it made it worse because it made me feel as if I had no right to feel the way I felt as there were so many people with so much less than what I had. I hope you can get some help for your depression Apc
Friend sent this to me a few years ago when I was suffering from clinical depression. I have always kept a copy and read it if I'm feeling down.
When the world is on your shoulders
And your heart feels full of lead
And your stomach churns like butter
And the voice inside your head
Is reminding you of everything
You've ever said or done
All your failures and regrets
All the times your fear has won
Take a minute to remember
You've survived all this before
You've battled and you've conquered
When you thought you had no more
You're stronger than you realise
You're brave and wise and kind
And you know you're so much bigger
Than the doubts that fill your mind
So breathe it in and let it out
Allow the ebb and flow
You can win this war, you always do
You're a warrior you know

Thanks you lovely folk. Unfortunately I have always had anxiety issues and various medical issues over the last few years suddenly caught up with me, so basically have had some sort of breakdown. This was just before Covid. Ive always been an outgoing person and even been told by quite a few people that I would make a very good counsellor. However, I have been a very poor counsellor for myself. I also feel like a nuisance and of no value any more. Fortunately, I have a very grounded, sensible OH who is more than capable to manage all the things they I was doing at home (except for Finance and Paperwork, which funnily enough I am still doing happily. Unfortunately, I feel worn out most of the time.
