dannyk13 ..I do understand that but what is the point in drawing attention to someone who has this illness - it is simply pointing out a rather unpleasant illness to people who have absolutely nothing to do with the person suffering - and their family. Just satisfying peoples morbid curiosity and does nothing for those who care about him because they know and love him.

I think it was said at Big Jacks funeral on our local station when they were running clips of both brothers from their humble beginnings in Ashington with Mam Cissie who was the backbone of the family , this was to quell reports of a rift between the brothers and why Bobby didn't attend Big Jacks funeral

dannyk13...and would she have been more or less coerced into that decision by fear of peoples speculation about what is wrong with him? Some people just love to nose into other peoples lives and spread , often incorrect , information. Just sad.

Dementia used to be classed as an illness to be ashamed of and was hidden from people. When famous people announce they have it, it makes it more acceptable, as it should be.

Given the criticism of his non attendance at his Brother's funeral this year and what will likely be a lack of an interview regarding the death of Nobby Stiles perhaps it was pre-emptive to quash rumours at source.
