I've seen this lovely memorial - it's heart-breaking to think that some lowlife, skunk-smoking scrote has destroyed it.

I'm by nature a non-violent person - but would be willing to forswear my belief for just long enough to deposit his gonads in the next county.

Yes these silhouettes have become a feature of Remembrance in recent years and are a poignant reminder of the sacrifices of the young men in 2 world wars.Indeed my late Grandfather lost 3 brothers in World War 1.To me 100 hours community service as a punishment doesn’t come close.

Truly wicked thing to do, what must his elderly relatives think about his actions, they were probably caught up in the last war and fought, suffered and died so that this piece of scum should cause so much outrage with his actions, a public flogging in this case is called for!

I would gladly donate the full replacement value to Nottingham Council for this RBL memorial soldier as long as the Notts Constabulary would let me have a few minutes with this individual in the detention room if they catch him.Hopefully. I must say how impressed I am with the young and old in my new adopted village in Burton. Dorset. They have three such figures on their village green. Two Tommies and a VAD nurse in silhouette. They have been there since 2014 and are respected. Not reviled.The whole village turns out en masse for Armed Forces Day each year on the village green.Bunting is draped on most houses.

Why ? What on earth is wrong with people today ? The mind boggles. One problem though - if they do catch him he will probably end up with just a slapped wrist. Lock him up and throw away the key.
