I'm trying to stay positive which is rather difficult to do at the moment. 53k new cases reported in the last 24 hours.

I really hope not, and that such paranoia disperses here after this initial overreaction at a new virus.
there is already a new varient sweeping the country and other countries have been affected too, one hopes that the current vaccination will be able to deal with that -
I read that they anticipated 6 weeks to make necessary modifications to the existing vaccine so it could prevent the new strain.

Its a personal choice to wallow in the doom and gloom of the present situation, or take a more positive approach, taking comfort in the fact that two hopefully effective vaccinations are now being wheeled out.
There will always be people who see the cup half empty or half full. Staying positive is the most important thing one can do at the moment, dwelling on the negative can affect both mental and physical health.
APG - I totally agree with you. We have to remain positive and hopeful.
