Some good news for millions of women as of today.

Do you think that sanitary products should be provided in schools for free though?

Yes, absolutely!
Good news about the lifting of the tax.

The Schools scheme is also beneficial to many.
Very good news Tiggs
It is... condoms are free. Tampons are charged and taxed, and that isn't even a choice.
Yes, I think there should be some available at schools etc, for those who need them. Most won't ask, unless they really have to.
Yes I do. Surely girls can be "caught short" at times.
Nothing new here surely?

I distinctly remember having free periods when I was at school.

Lol Dougie!

I remember when I was at school in the 80s and was caught short. Very unpleasant :o(
They are available in schools, they have been for a while now. I think one of the manufacturers fund it.

We're not allowed to give out tampons though.
Yes and yes

Just read at the end that sanitary products in schools were made free in 2019. That'll teach me to not just skim through articles in future!
There is a choice about using sanitary towels and tampons - my wife and daughters have used mooncups for years, although I do agree with the abolition of the 5% VAT.
Not everything suits everyone, though, Barry.
No, so it's good there are alternatives. My wife's GP recommended my wife try it as she had an allergy to pads and tampons which made her life utterly miserable.
Well Barry at least I know what a mooncup is now, they seem better for the environment. Another day something else learnt
I believe they are becoming more common and there are different brands available now.
Yes, each to their own- preferably without being punished for it.
period pants are the way to go :)
anyone tried tamp liners?
Never heard of that, bednobs?
Great news, about time & the schools idea is a good one.
Reusable, washable pads are also gaining in popularity - also much better for the environment
