Where Is Jk Rowling’s Open Letter? !
Apparently JK Rowling published an open letter on Wednesday. It’s caused a big stink. It’s about toilets and trans people. Just wanted to read it (the whole thing) out of interest, but alas I can’t find it anywhere on the internet. Any ideas guys? Even looked on her blog & website and can’t find it!
Cheers in advance.

The woman who came "second" to Rachel McKinnon... complained about it being unfair, received several death threats and retracted and apologised. Even just a few cases are unnecessary and too many.
To turn it around... can you give me one specific reason why a man should believe he is really a woman, or the benefit of being "treated like one".
I think women have had to fight too hard and too long to get their place in society, to give it up now, to make a man feel better. You might not mind, but we don't all want to go back 500 years and start again.

// So it comes down to is a woman transitioning to be a male is not seen as a threat to males, but the other way round it is a threat. Logic would say this is wrong, but feeling and instinct don't. //
It's not illogical at all. When over 90% of violent offences and sexual offences are carried out by males, and the majority of victims are females and children, it's not illogical that the male is viewed as a potential threat.
Imagine, Zacs, if you were alone in the Gents and a female dressed as a male came in. You might regard this as surprising/odd/amusing/insensitive/insert your own emotion. Now imagine you are a female alone in the Ladies and male dressed as a female comes in. This is quite, quite different. I would be at the very least wary, but also possibly intimidated, scared, vulnerable. I hate to generalise but I don't think I'd be overstepping the mark to suggest that most females would share similar feelings.
It's not that we walk about in a permanent, conscious state of fear, but it's second nature to us to be wary. And it is why we need 'safe spaces' though I detest the term. It is also one of the reasons why I dispute that any male can know what being a female 'feels like'.

Because something inside him tells him so I would imagine. I've never really looked into things that much. I've no idea of 'the benefit' other than it might make them more comfortable.
'You might not mind, but we don't all want to go back 500 years and start again.'
I think that typifies the grossly exaggerated situation. There is no way a few undesirable instances equate to or even approach the potential scenario you are predicting.

I think we may be talking at slight cross purposes. I can see that the few incidents of people with the appearance of being Male, being in Female designated areas can be disturbing and measures should be taken to stop this (no, I don't know what these are) whereas I'm arguing that these incident's are in no way, shape or form, an indicator of a major change in society and to argue that they are is baseless and unduly 'glass half empty'.
