I wonder if they will have to relinquish the Sussex title too? I hope so.

Kudos to The Star's headline writers.

"Publicity-shy woman tells 7.87 billion people: I’m pregnant."

"Publicity-shy couple to tell all to Oprah."

They're not publicity shy though Deskdiary. They are 'morally bankrupt scumbag lying tabloids like The Star' shy.
I just found it very funny.
I don't often agree with andy-hughes (& confess I don't always read him) but I endorse all he says at 19:13.

You should always read what I say - you'll learn a lot!!!

(LOL!!)

And thanks for the endorsement - appreciated.
I think Harry will still keep his links with Invictus (which was not a role bestowed on him by the Queen) and I think he enjoys that. Whilst he is not a working Royal, he is still a member of that family and is still very much a part of that family.

I do not think he has let the Queen or his country down (although he might have managed the announcements better). Ultimately, he has gone from 3rd in line to 6th in line. His role (and I think he has always stuggled to find a role since he was never brought up to be King) has diminished as William's family has expanded. Given what he saw his mother go through, I can understand that he might want to try and control the media or face it on his terms.

I read the recent judgement on the Duchess's case and it is clear that the DM went far too far. Unfortunately, she has trailer trash family who have been stupid in giving the press too much access and have allowed themselves to be completely manipulated by gutter press reporting.

I do not know her personally, but I haven't warmed to her. Having said that, I really do have a lot of sympathy for her. If the Duchess of Cambridge did something she was generally praised in the press; whereas for something similar the Duchess of Sussex was hounded. She could never win.

As for the upcoming interview, Charles did it, Diana did it, Andrew did it (all with pretty horrendous results). So I do not see it is so awful that Meghan and Harry are doing it.

I hope they can find some happiness.

I am not sure Invictus reciprocate

wills settlement case for you to comment on barmaid if you read this

and there is a helluva lot to read if not to learn !!!
// 'No one chooses to be royal ... ' I am talking about those who are born into the family, not those who marry into it, obviously by choice.//

no one chooses to be royal except those who choose to be royal by marrying into it

yup yup got it: has to be AB on a Friday night
Haven't read anywhere that Harry will have to give up his involvement with the Invictus Games. And, as founder of the games, nor should he.
yup, as I have said on here before...imagine being brought up knowing you are the "spare" As you big brother's family grows, the prospect of being needed recedes, you aren't allowed to do the job you really want to do and you KNOW that the plan is to "slim down the Royal Family" ....and he's a young man....he's looking ahead to a life of smile and nod nod and smile. I think its really hard for the Queen but society and expectations have changed in so many ways.
perhaps its just me but i actually feel sorry for Harry, not so much Meghan, he has given up an awful lot, lets hope she makes him happy.
Totally agree with Barmaid.

//In a statement a spokesman for Meghan and Harry said: "As evidenced by their work over the past year, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex remain committed to their duty and service to the UK and around the world, and have offered their continued support to the organisations they have represented regardless of official role.
"We can all live a life of service. Service is universal."//

A deliberately disrespectful response in my opinion especially to the queen who really has given a life of service. They should be ashamed of themselves. Very sad indeed.
What's sad, Naomi, is the belief held by many that Harry should abide by the bidding of his gran. She may have been happy to have devoted her life to the service of the country, but it's obviously not everyone's cup of tea.

Ken, I don’t think anyone would have minded at all if they simply decided to step away, relinquish all connections with their position as ‘royals’ and do their own thing. The problem is they want it all their way - to retain their titles to give them a leg up in the real world and to be royal when it suited them - and that’s what they can’t do. I feel very sad for the queen.
yeah andy has disappeared from view

without the fol-de-rol of " I am going everyone ! Byeeeee" and " still here not quite gone yet!"
I think the "service is universal" is a fair response to an unusually snotty comment from the Queen, although I get that the Queen has a lot on her plate at the moment with Philip being ill again.

not his choice though!
